From Flavio y Lyons 15 de Marzo

Good Morning Karolina :)

Climbing Ollantaytambo Ruins

What's up people? We have been in Peru for four days. We did many intesting things like hiking, moving into our household, meeting with the NGO Awamaki and with shaman Amano Bidal. The first thing that we did on that day was we hiked up to the Sun Temple and we learned many important stories of how they got the rocks from the top of the mountain across to build the temple. Just to move one big rock it took about 100-150 men.

After we got done going up to the Sun Temple we went to the NGO of Awamaki.  That NGO is helping women sell products that they make. Many of the girls have difficult times selling their products to visitors because they don't speak English or Spanish  so they can't really communicate with the visitors and tell them how much the product costs. The NGO helped this one girl that at 13 years old, got pregnant and had to drop out of school so that she can have a full time job and take care of the baby. She and her boyfriend moved into the girls parents house so they can make money to make their own house and live without their parents. Five years later they got enough money to build their own house next to their parents house and now they have 2 babies and are happy. - Flávio

And finally we met with the Shaman. Hermano Vidal met with us to bless us on our stay here. This spiritual moment was a very special moment that our whole group had. Each one of us gave blessings to people from our home and was told just to think of a person or thing who is very important to us. After giving our blessings we then received personal insight about our future and who we will become. In the end we were told that our trip will be a safe and wonderful trip with lots of learning experiences. He said messages that were all different for all of us. There was so many things that were special that if I write it all  this would be too long but I can see that our whole group found a deeper love for this amazing trip.-Lyons
