From Nana y Sydney 14 de Marzo

Hola

We started off the day with breakfast at our hotel. Then, we walked through town to the entrance of the Pinkuylluna ruins. We hiked up through the ruins and learned about their past usage as graineries and refrigerators for the Incas' crops. We spent some time admiring the view, and then headed back to town for lunch and looking around the town square. Afterwards we headed back to the hotel where we played a water balloon game, and then had some rest time. Before dinner, we played some more team building activities and then we got to meet with a local author, Ronald Castillo, who writes about Incan traditions and culture. From the author, we learned about some of the ancient Incan philosophies and about some of the history of the Inca empire which went from Colombia to Chile. Then, we went to dinner in town, and came back to the hotel for our nightly ANCHOR. We are now ready to pack for our home stays tomorrow and to get some much needed rest.

Our day was filled with immense beauty and newly discovered knowledge about the  environment and cultural we are currently exploring. We are appreciative of our oppourtunity to learn about the world and experience new adventures. We are excited to meet our host families tomorrow and to face the challenges and surprises that will continue throughout the rest of our trip.
